Where has this month gone? Seriously, I know we still have a week left, but I have so much planned in the diary, that this was the only space I had for my monthly favourites. It only feels like last week I broke up for the summer holidays but all that will be a distant memory by the end of next week. So, I have to treasure every second I have left and enjoy myself with my family and friends before it’s back to the slog of work.
I haven’t been abroad this year unfortunately, but have instead had a couple of weekends away, mainly with the family, celebrating a wedding, a birthday and soon to be celebrating a Christening. This means I haven't had much chance to go shopping (although I did recently make a sneaky order which I will no doubt write about soon), so, this months favourites are things I have purchased whilst doing my weekly grocery shop or things I have revisited and fallen back in love with.

I personally Love Mexican food but can’t actually eat most of it because I suffer from IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome), which unfortunately means onions, garlic and most other delicious tasting items are normally off the menu for me. Bread being the one thing I miss the most.
I am not by any means a chef or even a good cook, but having IBS means I have to think of ways to eat the dishes I enjoy without flaring up any uncomfortable digestive problems, gross I know!
For this dish, I have just picked the foods I like to eat, this can be changed and adapted to include anything you love to eat, so if you like onions then add them and if you like chillies then add them too.
This dish is inspired from my time spent in Australia, me and my best friend would go to the local Westfield’s food court on our lunch break. One of my favourite places to eat would be a place called Salsa’s and I would have their Chicken bowel, I think thats what it was called. It was delicious, full of flavour, one of those meals that even though you are so full you don’t want to stop eating because it tastes sooo good.
I really had a craving for it the other day so thought I would try and re-create it the best I could and it turned out pretty tasty, so here’s what I used.

I recently was in Boots, shopping for a few bits and bobs, one of them being a new Mascara. I’m not normally loyal to any brands when it comes to Mascara’s, however, I do tend to go for ones with fibre wands rather than the plastics wands. I find the plastic one uncomfortable and make my eyes sore, this is probably all in my head, but that’s just what I have experienced, so far.
Lately, I had been using a couple of the Max Factor mascaras but fancied trying something from L’Oreal and saw they had a new mascara out, False Lash Superstar. This is a double ended mascara. The first side being the primer, which is meant to thicken and strengthen the lashes and the second being the actual mascara, which claims to lengthen and lift your lashes. The mascara side, has a curved wand, which I find great for reaching the smaller lashes in my inner corner.

Sanctuary is a brand exclusively to Boots, and they have amazing products that don’t cost the earth but look and feel more expensive.
I have tried a couple of things from the brand already, so when my Soap and Glory body scrub ran out and I saw this product on the shelf, I had to give it a try.
And so far, so amazing! I was a tad unsure about the ‘air whipped souffle’ part but it really feels beautiful on my skin. It isn’t messy or hard to use, goes on the skin lovely and sinks in leaving you feeling very pampered and clean.

I am a really nosey person and love to read and see what people eat throughout their day, so naturally I thought I would share with you what I ate today.
Since I am on school holidays at the moment I have more time to think and prepare meals for the day ahead. I did the dreaded ‘big shop’ yesterday, so stocked my fridge and cupboards with yummy food. I try to do most of the prep as soon as I get home, especially of the fruit and veg, otherwise I tend to forget or get lazy and not eat any of it, which I hate as it’s such a waste of food.

Any who, this morning I woke up extra early as my husband was starting his first day at his new job, and I wanted to wave him off like a good wifey. I made him his usual cup of joe, as he likes to call it and I had the much needed brew (English Breakfast tea). I’m not the most healthiest of eaters, as you will find out a bit later on in the day, but for now I start off reasonably good with a bowl of fresh Strawberries and organic vanilla yogurt. I do struggle to find healthy breakfasts that are quick easy and yummy to have, so normally stick to fruit and yogurt, but every now again I treat myself to a Pan au chocolate, because lets just face it, they are amazing.

I am pale. I always have been and probably always will be, but I have come to terms with this and have learned to appreciate my pale skin. However, every now and again I do enjoy using fake tan to make me look a little less casper the friendly ghost and more slightly sun kissed. I normally use the St. Tropez self tanning mouse and a Boots glove, but find this to be quite stressful, and more often than not I end up with a massive streak in the most in-appropriate place. The smell of most false tan is also not very appealing and can make the whole chore off putting.
I then saw the adverts and all the countless Youtube videos on the new St.Tropez in shower gradual tanner. At first, I thought this is just an over priced gimmick and will just be like all the other gradual tanners, but I knew I had a wedding coming up and thought I would buy it and give it a go.
