First of all I would like to apologise for not posting in awhile. Unfortunately, we have had a few emergencies within our family that has meant me devoting time and energy elsewhere.
I love creating my Blog, even if only a few people look at it, for me it's more knowing that I have accomplished something and I am proud of what I have done so far.
Anyway, with all that said, Christmas this year was a bit of a sad occasion, missing people who should have been there and worrying about loved ones unwell. We did manage to have a lovely Christmas morning and my Mum made a outstanding Christmas dinner, that will go down as the best one I have eaten, so thanks Mum.

Sunday, 1 November 2015

The end of October is here and I honestly feel I have done nothing this month, well apart from being ill that is.
When I have felt myself, I have loved taken the dog for long walks through the park, to see the beautiful ever changing colours of Autumn, and have even bought my first Christmas present.
November I feel is going to be quite a different month, busy visiting family and trying to get organised for the madness that is December. Any who, here are the gorgeous products I have been obsessing over this month.

It's getting to that time of year where most of us succumb to the dreaded common cold. Unfortunately, I have already fallen prey and am sniffling away whilst writing this post.
Instead of rushing straight to the local chemist to buy the latest wonder drug to beat those pesky runny noses and sore throats, I tend to try a few 'at home' tried and tested remedies first.
Now, I am no expert or Doctor, but I do find these things can help me to relax and feel better, when I feel lousy and run down.

As you can tell by the title I did a bit of spending a couple of weeks ago. I needed some new shampoo and conditioner, and wanted a few things to update my Autumn make-up look. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect berry lip colour, hopefully I will be able to add that to my make-up bag soon.

This month has been a busy one for me and has gone by so fast, however, I still have somehow managed to make time to go to London, get a massage, try out new products and taste an array of new fabulous teas.
Welcome to my September favourites.

I'm a member of my local Bannatyne Health club in Mansfield, but tend to use the Spa a lot more than the gym. And that is exactly what I did this week.
I went in to get my regular brow wax when I saw a promotion to tempting to pass up.
An Elemis facial and back massage, yes please!
So, I booked myself in for the very next day. I do love my job, but at times it is quite stressful, so being able to pop down the road after work and be transformed into a zen human being,  even if it is only for 70minutes, is absolute bliss.

Sunday, 20 September 2015

It’s my Mums birthday coming up soon, so we decided to have a little mother/daughter day out in London. On previous trips to London we have been to watch some amazing shows and musicals, so we tend to stay around Covent Gardens, however, this time we wanted to visit somewhere different.
We decided to brave Oxford street.
Neither my mum nor I had ever been to Oxford street before, so have never experienced the swarms of people that are there shopping and sight seeing on a busy Saturday.

These are a pick of some of the lovely shades I like to use this time of year to get me into the Autumn season. As this is the BEST season in my opinion with warm knitted jumpers, Halloween and Bonfire night, why not dress our nails up in celebration.

I love getting ready to go places, as it means I get to play in my make-up drawer.
I wear make-up most week days, whether I'm at work or running errands, but on weekends when I know I'm not going anywhere I tend to go bare faced to give my skin some time to breath.

As mentioned before, I did a little feel unique.com order and got two new skincare products to try out.
If you have read my skincare routine post you will know I have been using the Clinique Smart custom repair as my serum and Glamglow, Supermud for my weekly face mask. Sadly these both ran out on the same week, but instead of repurchasing them, I thought I would venture forth and see what else is out there.

Where has this month gone? Seriously, I know we still have a week left, but I have so much planned in the diary, that this was the only space I had for my monthly favourites. It only feels like last week I broke up for the summer holidays but all that will be a distant memory by the end of next week. So, I have to treasure every second I have left and enjoy myself with my family and friends before it’s back to the slog of work.
I haven’t been abroad this year unfortunately, but have instead had a couple of weekends away, mainly with the family, celebrating a wedding, a birthday and soon to be celebrating a Christening. This means I haven't had much chance to go shopping (although I did recently make a sneaky feelunique.co.uk order which I will no doubt write about soon), so, this months favourites are things I have purchased whilst doing my weekly grocery shop or things I have revisited and fallen back in love with.

I personally Love Mexican food but can’t actually eat most of it because I suffer from IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome), which unfortunately means onions, garlic and most other delicious tasting items are normally off the menu for me. Bread being the one thing I miss the most.
I am not by any means a chef or even a good cook, but having IBS means I have to think of ways to eat the dishes I enjoy without flaring up any uncomfortable digestive problems, gross I know!
For this dish, I have just picked the foods I like to eat, this can be changed and adapted to include anything you love to eat, so if you like onions then add them and if you like chillies then add them too.
This dish is inspired from my time spent in Australia, me and my best friend would go to the local Westfield’s food court on our lunch break. One of my favourite places to eat would be a place called Salsa’s and I would have their Chicken bowel, I think thats what it was called. It was delicious, full of flavour, one of those meals that even though you are so full you don’t want to stop eating because it tastes sooo good.
I really had a craving for it the other day so thought I would try and re-create it the best I could and it turned out pretty tasty, so here’s what I used.

I recently was in Boots, shopping for a few bits and bobs, one of them being a new Mascara. I’m not normally loyal to any brands when it comes to Mascara’s, however, I do tend to go for ones with fibre wands rather than the plastics wands. I find the plastic one uncomfortable and make my eyes sore, this is probably all in my head, but that’s just what I have experienced, so far.
Lately, I had been using a couple of the Max Factor mascaras but fancied trying something from L’Oreal and saw they had a new mascara out, False Lash Superstar. This is a double ended mascara. The first side being the primer, which is meant to thicken and strengthen the lashes and the second being the actual mascara, which claims to lengthen and lift your lashes. The mascara side, has a curved wand, which I find great for reaching the smaller lashes in my inner corner.

Sanctuary is a brand exclusively to Boots, and they have amazing products that don’t cost the earth but look and feel more expensive.
I have tried a couple of things from the brand already, so when my Soap and Glory body scrub ran out and I saw this product on the shelf, I had to give it a try.
And so far, so amazing! I was a tad unsure about the ‘air whipped souffle’ part but it really feels beautiful on my skin. It isn’t messy or hard to use, goes on the skin lovely and sinks in leaving you feeling very pampered and clean.

I am a really nosey person and love to read and see what people eat throughout their day, so naturally I thought I would share with you what I ate today.
Since I am on school holidays at the moment I have more time to think and prepare meals for the day ahead. I did the dreaded ‘big shop’ yesterday, so stocked my fridge and cupboards with yummy food. I try to do most of the prep as soon as I get home, especially of the fruit and veg, otherwise I tend to forget or get lazy and not eat any of it, which I hate as it’s such a waste of food.

Any who, this morning I woke up extra early as my husband was starting his first day at his new job, and I wanted to wave him off like a good wifey. I made him his usual cup of joe, as he likes to call it and I had the much needed brew (English Breakfast tea). I’m not the most healthiest of eaters, as you will find out a bit later on in the day, but for now I start off reasonably good with a bowl of fresh Strawberries and organic vanilla yogurt. I do struggle to find healthy breakfasts that are quick easy and yummy to have, so normally stick to fruit and yogurt, but every now again I treat myself to a Pan au chocolate, because lets just face it, they are amazing.

I am pale. I always have been and probably always will be, but I have come to terms with this and have learned to appreciate my pale skin. However, every now and again I do enjoy using fake tan to make me look a little less casper the friendly ghost and more slightly sun kissed. I normally use the St. Tropez self tanning mouse and a Boots glove, but find this to be quite stressful, and more often than not I end up with a massive streak in the most in-appropriate place. The smell of most false tan is also not very appealing and can make the whole chore off putting.
I then saw the adverts and all the countless Youtube videos on the new St.Tropez in shower gradual tanner. At first, I thought this is just an over priced gimmick and will just be like all the other gradual tanners, but I knew I had a wedding coming up and thought I would buy it and give it a go.

This is my new wonder product, I do not know how I managed without it.
I was first introduced to Clarins Instant Concealer by the wonderful Catherine Williams, who is a brilliant and lovely make-up artist from North Wales. Catherine did my bridal make-up for me back in May and I was so pleased with the results and with this product, I rushed straight out and bought it.

To start this post about my skincare routine, I will give you a brief history about my skin and it’s many problems.

The Baltic Social

The Baltic Social is on Parliament street in Liverpool city centre. When driving past the old mill style building, you could blink and miss the quirky, retro bar. It is with in a few minutes taxi drive from Liverpool Lime Street station and has a very cool relaxed vibe inside. I came here on a very dreary Saturday lunch time for my cousins Hen party, I walked into to the building not knowing what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised.
